we’ve got the older model (actually 3 :) we picked up at estate sales! I love this machine and use every attachment except the grinder (only because I don’t have it!)

I’ve had mine for about 20 – 25 years.I bought attachments for it over time and rarely use them.I have the grinder and the slicer blades and something else but it stays in the cabinet. If I remember right it came with the whip, paddle and dough hook.I put mine to use mostly around the holidays and have never had to lubricate it.I would recommend a cover for it if you aren’t going to use it daily.
The metal I believe is all stainless.Mine has no rust on it and no paint has chipped off of it.
I wouldn’t get rid of mine for the world,I just love it and you will too!

I love my KitchenAid Mixer. I only use the basic attachments that came with it, whip paddle, dough hook etc. It’s not used often, but for those big jobs it does come in handy and works great. I haven’t had to lubricate it at all. To me it’s not an everyday machine, but definitely at holidays & special occasions can be used quite a bit. I even have my grandmother’s KitchenAid Mixer from the 40’s or 50’s that I have displayed and it still works.

okay here are some of the down sides, first off they are heavy, you need to find a place where you will not be moving it around, they do not shut off auto mactically if you tilt the head up, adding ingredents is sometimes not easy as the head is very close to the bowl and there is not much room to add stuff, make sure you get the handle that is solid, as the other type is hard on your hands, a double beater chews up a solid block of butter as the kitchen aid you have to cut everything up in small peices, the beater does not do a great job of cleaning and mixing the sides of the bowl so you need to scrap the sides all the time, the head is not detachable so if you want to mix up those potatoes in their pot you need something else,, that said I use mine all the time and it just keeps on going and have had no problems with it. I think though that if I was to purchase another one I would go with the double beater kind.
just my thoughts….I run a bakery and remember that the kitchen aid will only make one loaf of bread at a time or the dough will start to climb up the beater into the top of the head. …

I have had mine for many, many years. Looks just like it did when I bought it. Keep it clean and cover it and will last you a life time. What are you going to use it for? Those are the attachments you need. The others will just live in the cabinet and take up room.

Loved mine, lost it in the divorce some 15 years ago. I only ever used the attachments that came with, never did more than that with mine. Best of luck to you with it.

It’s funny, but I also lost mine in the divorce. I myself filed a divorce, because I could find all the necessary information here [URL removed] + I am very scrupulous

I love mine! Works even better than I thought it would. I did pick up an extra bowl at a sale for $5, and I do use that. Happy baking!

I really lucked out and got my Kichen Aid Classic Plus, new in box, for $130..won it on FeeBay. I have since purchased the small stainless bowl, the pouring shield, bowl covers and the neatest beater holder that attaches underneath your cabinets and holds your beaters. I got all these from either Amazon or eBay at a fraction of retail price. I absolutely love the mixer. There is one thing that needs to be considered and that is the height of the mixer if you plan to put it on a counter top under cabinets. While my mixer fits under my cabinets, I can not tilt the head up without pulling it out to the end of my counter (and as previously stated..it is heavy). I solved the problem by setting it on a heavy oval place mat and that allows me to slide it out easily and without scratching my counter top. Don’t have attachments yet but plan to start getting them soon..read the reviews on any attachments, some appear to work better than others.

I have had mine for 11 years. I only wish I had bought the classic because it is not as heavy duty. My motor is far more than I need for home baking. I would also get the paddle beater that has a rubber scraper attached to do the sides as this will help you to not have to stop and scrape down the sides. You don’t follow recipes that say beat X amount of minutes as this machine beats very well and in less time. I bought my daughter inlaw the classic one for Christmas. I found WalMart had it cheaper than anyone at that time. It was 200.00 less than mine and works just as good and is easier to handle. The pouring shield is great! I have extra bowls and find I need them.

It’s funny, but I also lost mine in the divorce. I myself filed a divorce, because I could find all the necessary information here [URL removed] + I am very scrupulous and attentive in this regard. But when I took my things from home, I forgot about it. A year has passed and I’m still upset about this. It was a good thing.
