How can i find the value of a vintage avon ring

I am selling an Avon ring I bought in the early 1980’s I have recently discovered that vintage avon jewelry can be really valuable. I am thinking my price is way to low. How can I find the value of it?

Jewellry Wendy Brandes is a fine gems originator. She expounds all on her gems motivations. Her posts are charming and incorporate a ton of fascinating history stories. Wendy is a firm devotee that you ought to be inventive. [URL removed]

I did a search on Sold items for Avon jewelry on Ebay and what I saw was the designer names that sell high – Elizabeth Taylor, Kenneth Lane, Barrera (?). I think you could probably ask a little bit more for your ring, it is quite pretty/delicate but I think you’re in the ballpark price for an non-designer Avon piece.

But it is a lesson for all of us that some of the things we wouldn’t think would garner big prices do, especially from this era.

You are so right Lynne Kenneth J Lane brings good prices as do some of the other designers you mentioned but the other Avon were so mass produced that they don’t bring as much. Exceptions to every rule. Mothers Day is coming along too. This could be a childs or youth ring. Compare prices princess. Good luck it is a sweet ring.

There was a period in the 1980s when Tiffany artists were designing for Avon. These are the artists you have to identify in addition to those already mentioned. I know you sell Avon, Princess. Ask your district manager how you might be able to get your hands on books from that era. Otherwise, Avon Corp. surely has archives with such information and an historian. They are such a large corporation, I can’t see them ignoring such history.

I know about the Tiffany’s connection because I was a district manager during the 80s. Yet, I remember very little of what was hot. Louis Feraud is one designer’s name I do recall.

I don’t think though that the corporation could lead you in the direction of current pricing. That is the stuff collector books are made of. But having the original book descriptions could tell you what the jewelry is made of and at what price it originally sold.

Your ring was not a special piece as I recall, so I do believe you are in the right ballpark, as was said earlier. However, you are correct that some pieces have appreciated in value. On the whole though, vintage Avon products are in a soft market.

Good luck in your pursuit!

Edit 3/17/13 — Just did a bit of sleuthing and found that Avon actually owned Tiffany & Co. from 1979 to 1984.

Here is an interesting link referring to a Louis Feraud design. Check out the asking price! [URL removed]

You might want to do a google search for Louis Feraud for Avon.

Oh I thank you sincerely for this, I’ve been looking for it for over a week, thank you for being here for me

Hello , I saw the ring in your listings … It isn’t valuable, sorry to say … But I would change your title to childs ring , since it is so small . And you could raise the price to $ 9.99 :)

I no longer need answers, since the ring sold over night. Thank you all for your help. :)
