Applying background burner to imported inventory

I was just looking into Background Burner for the first time. The page for it that I found [URL removed] states
“When you sign up for a free seller account on Bonanza.com we’ll automatically Background Burn all your listings.”

I import all of my items to Bonanza from another site. Does the statement above mean that it should be automatically applied to all of my imported pictures?

ALSO, If I want to burn images of new items that I am not listing on Bonanza and use the [URL removed] page, it seems to be automatically recropping the image when I save it. Is there a way to prevent this?

This is an official Bonanza response.

Hi @CuriousDave,

Thanks for spotting that! This is no longer a service that Bonanza offers, since we found most users weren’t taking advantage of it. If you are interested in using the Background Burner to remove the background from your images, you can still access our free Background Burner in the item edit, or from the page linked [URL removed]
[URL removed]

We also have a Pro service, where an expert will review and edit your listings for you. There are various options available depending on your business needs. You can find out more about those options [URL removed]

Hope that helps!

Thank you. The basic function seems to be working well at that link, but it is cropping my photos and making the resolution very low. I have not tried to use it with the edit functions on the item pages. I will keep trying to see if it can work without changing the size/resolution of the photo.

Hi CuriousDave, Well This is the first i heard of them automatically doing it….We, as members, have access to the burner and we can do our own, but i have never had much luck with it to tell you the truth. And I have been a member for a few years now, and none of my items were ever automatically burned by bonanza. So, not sure what that is all about. Maybe someone who knows a bit more will come along and explain further.

Perhaps it is just a problem with the wording on that page. It does seem to imply that it will happen automatically. I thought maybe I had to opt in or something as mine are definitely not getting done automatically.

Thank you, misskeech. Much appreciated. If anyone knows about the recropping/resizing that happens when you use that page, please let me know. I take it that there is another way to access the background burner feature when you are creating a listing for Bonanza. However, I was going to use the burner for my Amazon listings – and never really plan on creating listings directly in Bonanza since I am just sending copies of my eBay listing here.

So I would like to use the burner as a stand alone, the free version, and not have it change the size of my pics. Not asking much, huh? If anyone knows how to do this please let me know.

Dave, I tried it twice and never again – it doesn’t work.
It cuts aimlessly into the items… doesn’t do any good.

I have also tried the Background burner and found that the burner removed parts of the image leaving gaping holes. Went back to to the plain ole way of displaying my items.
