Are bonanzlers just not into paperback books?????????

I sell almost none here but still do well on the dreaded Ebay. Is everybody here too young to read the old-fashioned paper books? Can’t be my prices or my selection, I’ve got 498 right now, so I don’t know what’s going on!!?? Anybody have any ideas???

Well, if we are talking about a good service for writing articles, then you should come here – [URL removed] so that you do not fall for the bogey, the links to which are given above.

It has nothing to do with whether the people on bonanza read or not….

I do a lot of reading. Do a search on the internet for a book you want…tell me which sites come up first in the search…

If your book comes up in the search..is it the ebay listing or the bonanza listing.

If a person does not do a search for a book, tell me what site will they go to first to look for a book????

Amazon
Barnes and Noble
Abe books
ebay

no one goes…“Hey lets search bonanza for a book…they go…I’m looking for xxxx book..let’s check Amazon…costs to much!
let’s check ebay”

Also note that your item traits are not filled out, so I guess that means your google attributes are probably not filled out either. Your books are not in google shopping and your listings start with boiler plate information which will get your feed kicked of google shopping (you need to make sure you have isbn attribute for books and have opted for google ads)…

For the most part people here are sellers…promoting to other sellers will get you minor results…you need to promote to the readers and they are out there in the world..not reading the bonanza promotion lists..

Doesn’t help that you can’t click on BOOKS as a category anymore because it’s not listed under “Browse by Category”. In order to get to books, you have to go to the first page of Bonanza or click on “All Categories.” In addition, most book titles input in search go straight to Amazon. For example, I have two books by Allie McKay in my booth. If a buyers puts in the name of this author, a tag comes up saying that because there aren’t any items here on Bonanza they redirect you to Amazon.

I just searched for one of your McKay titles – Haunted Warrior – and it brought it right up. Searched by author nothing from Bonz came up. Seems like the system likes books better than their [URL removed]

I think a couple of things are [URL removed]

1) I’m noticing that in virtually all of your titles you have the [URL removed]

Any 10 Books For 10 Dollars _ INHB

and the first lines of virtually all of your listings [URL removed]

Special [URL removed]
(#1) Buy any 2 books and/or audiobooks & get 1 FREE!

(#2) Buy 10 or more books and/or audiobooks & they’re just $1.00 each! Flat rate shipping to all USA addresses is only $4.00, no matter how many books you buy!

I don’t know if you’re opted into Google Advertising, but if you are, they prohibit promotional copy in titles and in the first 250 characters of descriptions. Therefore, both of the above will get your listings kicked off their Shopping listings.

I do see that you have most of your traits and attributes filled out, but it won’t do you much good if Google isn’t indexing your products.

2) You’re up against yourself if you’re listing the same products at the same prices on both eBay and Bonanza. If most of your customers are used to finding you on eBay, that’s where they’re going to go first. And if they find a book among your listings there that they want, that’s where they’re going to buy it.

3) You’re up against Amazon, which is the premier book site (even though they’ve gone WAY past that in their product listings, that’s what they became known for and for which still are known best.

4) CindyBear is right that promoting to other sellers will bring you limited results, unless they happen to see a title they want or are looking to buy to resell the books. You need to promote yourself big time – on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, a blog if you have one — anywhere and everywhere you can to reach readers all over the internet.

5) Finally, for whatever reason, sales have been a bit slow for everyone. I’ve seen a slight pick-up in sales very recently, and I’m hoping it’s the beginning of an upward [URL removed]

All that, of course, is just MHO, but I hope it helps.

I googled 4 of your paperbacks. I found they were all on Amazon, one for 99 cents, the 3 others starting at 1 cent. How can any small seller compete with that?!! My belief is that folks are going to go where the item is least expensive. Think of all the book stores that have gone out of business being undercut by sellers on the internet. I’ve managed to sell some books here, but it’s because I always comparison price before listing and won’t even bother trying to sell the ones I can’t compete with. But that’s just me. And I agree that more and more people are going to electronic versions of books.

Magentas – I have 4400+ books online in my Bonz booth, mostly hardcover, and I only had 1 sale in May, nothing so far in June. Books are everywhere, even really nice ones, and difficult to sell because of so much competition

Magenta, I would imagine you would be able to get a good following on Twitter, Google+ or Facebook with some promoting of your items. There are book lovers out there that would love the kind of deal that you offer.

I’d really concentrate on the suggestions and critiques given because at those prices and deals I’m feeling like you’d be getting some sales.

I don’t think people read books too much for pleasure any more – in some cases, they use Nook or one of the other electronic systems. There’s so much leisure-time competition – television, DVD’s and other forms of entertainment.

Just my own thoughts on the matter.

seems your booth is not in google shopping at all…

I also sell on Amazon and can’t compete with the penny sellers. Books just don’t move as well as they once did!

The problem with ebay -- is it’s FEE BAY … You spend more on relisting items there, then what you make .

I have purchased many books from Magenta. You can’t beat her deal, you may see them on Amazon for 99 cents but will be paying $3.99 shipping for each and every one. Magenta sells all you want for $1.00 for each book plus combined media mail shipping. Can’t beat her deal at all. Most likely she is not showing up on google.

I’ve never had any luck selling paperback books on the internet or in my brick and mortar store. I have moved 100s of paperback books into a room where I sell them for 10¢ each, I now sell a few off and on through my brick and mortar store. I have all types and kinds of paperbacks both fiction and non-fiction.

Sales are said to be slow everywhere. Spring, Summer and Fall give people markets and Sales where they can find things for less than anyone can offer. The secret to me is list everywhere, list as much as you can and hang tough.

In principle, I love to read books and it doesn’t matter what they are – hardback or paperback. I like to read both fiction and scientific literature. I love science, so I entered the university and at the moment I need to write a research proposal. To do this, I decided to contact the research proposal service [URL removed] because I am very worried about the result. The difficulty in writing this proposal is that in just a few pages I need to summarize future work and prove that the questions I am trying to research are important for a particular academic field.
