Catagroies/sub catagories

When I first began with Bonz (Yes, I know BONZ is old school that you like to point out is now Bonanza, but I like Bonz)our categories and sub categories were no different than they are now, which is only mostly adequate.

It’s near impossible to find specific name brands in many of the antiques and collectables department.

I use all of the tools properly, like allowing Bonz to search these for me, or me searching every possibility, but there are so few that give the proper definition.

The item traits quite often gives even less than adequate information.

Are there any fixes up and coming on these areas?

I believe that proper attributes and categories allow search and sales to both go up.

Thank you Cindy. I’ll try the [[brand]] thingy, but its not only the traits, its the entire catagory system. I guess even after being here four years, I still like ebay for their catagory system (little else)

as a buyer i usually search the specific manufacturer or name brand. so just be sure all the manufacturer name and other traits you think are important are in the title of your item. let the buyers find your items, no point in waiting for Bonz to take care of it.

I do that some…but it seems easier to use ebay catagories…LOL We are limited by Google to 70 character titles, and I am long winded enough ;-)

but ebay as well as bonz categories unfortunately are not google product search categories…

HavensRainbow says: July 08, 2013

Maybe that is partly where I went wrong. When listing I always had a tendency to see which category the item was placed in at eBay. In this area it’s not always easy to know which is the best category. I guess I should have been relying on Google’s taxonomy to figure out a better category….con’t

Is that what you mean, ccmom? Sorry AboundingOddities, I do not mean to hijack your thread. I hope the question helps you as well.

LOL…please, hijack away. Any info is better than long hours of search with no outcome (as I am now used to). I searched the taxonmy – it’s as confusing as some of our recent changes here ;-)

Yes, the Google taxonomy categories can be confusing also and plus they do not match perfectly with this site or others….maybe we are supposed to read between the lines at the taxonomy and the site’s category list and find a happy medium…I don’t know![URL removed]
