I sent a package Tuesday via priority mail using the Bonanza labels. There was an option for insurance at additional cost. I thought insurance was free with priority. I did not check the box because I did not want charged more. But has something changed that I do not know about?

Insurance on Priority Mail up to $50 declared item value is free. If your declared value exceeds that, then there is an extra charge.
For Priority Mail Express, I think the first $100 in declared value comes with free insurance.

Best way that I have found to handle shipping is to open an account with the carrier ( USPS, FedEx, UPS, DHL ) and when you ship an item, purchase the label directly from the carrier’s website. Bonanza charges for insurance on Priority Mail ( which is free for the first $50 of declared value ) and also charges a fee for purchasing the label through Bonanza.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
