Checkout by amazon service discontinuation

Hello everyone,

I received this email today from Amazon.

Will Bonanza be accepting payments through Pay with Amazon?

“Dear Customer,

Thank you for being a loyal Amazon Payments customer and offering Amazon buyers the ability to transact on your site using Checkout by Amazon. Over the years we have developed a differentiated Commerce Identity offering for merchants and consumers that is represented by our Pay with Amazon offering. To simplify our offerings, we will be discontinuing the Checkout by Amazon service. We will continue to focus on growing Pay with Amazon’s features and capabilities. We are encouraging all Checkout by Amazon merchants to migrate to Pay with Amazon and we will support you during the process to make the transition seamless.

Please note that as a result of the transition your other Seller Central and Amazon Business accounts will not be impacted by this change. To ensure sufficient time for planning and migrating, the discontinuation of Checkout by Amazon will begin April 1, 2017. Important dates listed [URL removed]

April 1, 2017, your customers will no longer be able to place orders on your website using Checkout by Amazon (CBA).
You will have until August 1, 2017 to ship all of your orders that were placed with CBA.
On January 1, 2018, we will stop supporting CBA."

To Answer Brilliantly

Remember these tips:

  • Use links to other sources to support your opinions
  • Use examples where possible
  • Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?

Should I post a comment or an answer?

You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?

Post an answer for:

  • Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question

Post a comment for:

  • "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
  • When you would like the original poster to provide more details
  • When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
