Estimate price point

When updating inventories this weekend I noticed a new feature called “Estimate price point”- Being ever curious I clicked on it- This is what I [URL removed]
-———————————————————————————————
Estimate price point
“Geoffrey Beene Cap (1940s)” typically priced between $10.50 – $19.25
-—————————————————————————————————
Whattha?! Where does this info come from? Where does (1940’s) come from? And to what item does that price refer? The item I was listing is $43.00! Our cost is more than the prices listed. And we price under most for these items. Will a shopper see this information? And, if so, why on earth would they not leave our booth immediately? And if they do, where will they end up? Catalog, other booth etc?

Another surprise!

I think that is the going price for what they think is your item. I used to see it all the time in small letters when I was listing something, just before I hit the upload button. It is just a suggestion and I do not believe buyers can see this. I think it is for information only, so you don’t overprice or underprice your items for sale.

Thanks for response! I hope buyers can’t see it because it certainly is a misrepresentation of the item value :-( WIll just keep watching- thanks again

thanks for asking this question as I am just now noticing it 6 months later. BTW I just went to your booth click on a couple of items and no where does it suggest a price point to me as a buyer.

I noticed that feature as well, it did not work when I clicked on it last week. And it is no longer visible at least to me. I looked at your Geoffrey Been Caps ( nice caps!) and did not see it there either. It could be a new feature that is not ready yet. Hopefully it is a tool for sellers only, to be able to check average price points of our items and adjust accordingly. But how the search is triggered, I have no idea. It might be description keyword triggered since you have the year 1947 in your description.?

Oh, yeah, the year the company went into business was 119147- very interesting and misleading about a trait for the item. Thanks for noticing that! Sure would like to know how that price was determined. Still there now if I go in to edit -
