Am I wasting my time trying to make the editor find and replace chunks of text in my listings…I’ve tried repeatedly and no luck. I don’t relish the idea of manually updating 300 listings!

Hi @Old-TimeTreasures,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about the trouble with text editing. It sounds like you are trying to update text in bulk. As @ccmom mentioned, you must use the exact same text in the exact same format for the find and replace function to work. Please note that if you are attempting to update multiple listings at once, your request will be queued and it may take anywhere from a few hours to several minutes to update, depending on the number of bulk updates in the queue ahead of you. You can read more about replacing text on the following help [URL removed]

The find and replace is picky…You have to have the exact same text in the exact same format…or it does not work…
It works better usually by going into Source of the listing and copy the text phrase/words with the html formatting of the original (and paste it somewhere so that you have it available (I usually use notepad)) and then correct the listing and get the corrected source code as the replace text…
Or just try the remove text…and then add the new text if location does not matter…but again to remove it has to be exact with formatting

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
