Hello ladies and gentlemen. i just made my first purchase. i bought a pair of new shoes. and after more reading i noticed that they didn't come with the original box.

If the shoes are advertised as new shouldn’t they come with the original box. Or is this just a internet phenomenon combined with acute paranoia. After all they were quite expensive. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

I have sold Converse sneakers that were new without a box. Customer was very happy. Some people aren’t bothered if it has a box or not. It depends on the customer. You are a person who would feel more comfortable with your purchase if it had the original box.

If the shoes don’t seem up to par for you, you probably can return them (granted they accept returns).

I’ve sold two pairs of shoes that were new before without a box. Both pairs did have a tag. One of the pairs were right from the manufacturer in its plastic baggie before it got put out on the floor available to the customers.

Things are not always how they used to be or what you would expect anymore. I have not got boxes with my shoes for a while. Also I ordered bank checks and they even did not come with the box that I expected they would come in. Times are a changing.h

No, not always. I have bought shoes and sold shoes that did not come with the original box. Even at higher end stores you will find pricey designer shoes on the rack sometimes without a box, with that said, they should have some type of tag attached to them, either on the bottom or the inside of the shoe.

The seller should and apparently did state that the item did not come with a box according to your post. I routinely buy new items without a box. They usually do have a tag on them. Always read the entire description and listing details to include any return policies a seller may have. Knowing all the details before making a purchase will help alleviate any questions you may have in the future. Good luck!
