I need a marble expert!!! did i identify this right?

Help! I went to buymarbles to try to identify this. I can’t find another like it anywhere. I looked at tons of sites and tons of photos, I explained most of that in the description cause I have NO idea if I researched it properly. I would dearly love to know if I did. Thank you so very much. Here is the link to the [URL removed] [URL removed]

It’s almost impossible to find two marbles that look exactly the same. Not sure how you concluded it of German descent, as it looks very similar to many of the swirl pattern marbles I have in my personal collection. Most I bought during the 1950s. This one appears to be machine made as most of them were in the 1950s. Bennington made one of the more popular German marbles and they were noticeably irregular in shape. Later German marbles were machine made, exceptionally round and symmetrical as to the swirl. They were predominantly slightly translucent. Most German marbles of pre-1950s that have survived are 13/16 to 15/16, however smaller ones exist. A lot would depend on where you discovered it. Whether it was with other valuable items or was in a yard sale toy box tells a lot. :)

Thank you!

Thanks so much. My little email thingy did not tell me anyone had answered.

Anyways, this was found in the garden on an old ranch (ours) There have not been children here for geesh at least 40 years. I know the family and previous owners.

So I should take out the German Part and move it to machine made…..then if glass is a category choice, change that……..maybe I should just give it to the grandson when he is old enough?

Thanks again everybody.
