Hello,
I am trying to import my inventory file via Mac using Numbers. I keep getting an error.
Whoops. There was an error.
The file uploaded is not a valid CSV file due to “Unquoted fields do not allow \r or \n (line 4).”. If you have opened the file in Excel or Open Office, please be sure to save it as a .csv file.
This is a CSV file that Shopify created of my current store inventory. I followed the instructions on Bonanza’s CSV format.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Open the file in Numbers and then use the SAVE AS… function (under the File menu) to make sure the the file is saved in proper CSV format. If you don’t have any commas in your information, then use comma delimited option. If you have commas, then use the TAB delimited option.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
