Ok, so this isn’t really a question but more a request for information. Ive run into a problem that I’m not sure how to work around … When I list an item in my booth and opt to offer “International Shipping – Worldwide” I am given only options to offer “Flat Rate” shipping, “See Item Description” for shipping details or, “Do Not Offer International Shipping”.
How can I possibly offer “Flat Rate” shipping on an item if I have no foreknowledge of where the item will ship to ? Obviously, if I am shipping any given item to different locations in different countries, the rate difference could be hundreds of dollars so “Flat Rate” is not a viable option.
The option to leave “shipping details in the item description” is a better option but is still rather vague in that there is no way to accurately show potential customers in different international locations what it will cost to ship that item to them. A better option would be to offer some sort of “shipping calculator” where we would be able to enter item specifics ( package dimensions and weight ) and a customer would then be able to see actual, calculated shipping rates of the carriers selected by the seller to their postal code.
As it exists today, there’s no telling how many sales have been lost because there’s no reliable and accurate way for me to list International Shipping Rates. I, ( and I’m sure many others as well ), would appreciate any suggestions you could offer on how to work around this.

If you use the shipping calculator for domestic shipping, then the international sales will also use the the calculator…
If you use a flat rate or free domestic shipping then you can set up your international shipping in "Update items as a group…ie Batch Edit’ Under shipping.
To use the Batch editor for international shipping
Update Items as a group
Select shipping tab
This will show you what your shipping is and what ever set-up you have
If you wish to remain with having buyers contact you, then leave it and your the sales will come as offers for you to add in the shipping costs.
The problem with this is that the buyer will have to come back and complete check out and many times they do not…
To see complete image, go to end of post and scroll over
To allow buyers to go straight to checkout
Select Items
Click on Clear International Shipping
Apply Changes
This will clear all the shipping set up during listing
![URL removed]
Now set up either Calculated shipping (weights will have to entered for the items, if they have not already been done)
Select items
Select Calculated Shipping weights (if not done already)
To set a flat by regions (this is good for lots of similar items that have same or similar weights)…these images were for someone who wanted to ship one flat rate to Canada and one to the rest of the world…but it is the same principle
Select items
Select Flat Rate
Enter the Rate
Select Regions
Apply Changes
Continue with each region that has a different flat rate
