Is anyone signed up to the 19% advertising level?

If so has it made any difference in views and sales? I personally have not seen any change what so ever. Just wondering how others are doing.

Hope more sellers chime in about the advertising levels or packages.

I had mine at 19%, but then decided to try the 30%. There was no difference. I’ve put it back to 19% but may lower it more. I just thought the extra views might help, but, sad to say, it didn’t.

That’s disappointing. I have other places that I sell on and thought it would help if I put it up. Did not mind paying it if it worked. Thought that way I would not have to spend a lot of time here.

I have been at 30% for the past month just to see what happens. only 1 sale and only 38 views.

I was going to try 30%, but I did not see a difference at the 19% so I could not see how the 30% was going to make a difference.

I was at 13% for approx. 2 months with no luck and switched to 19% 2 days ago. Had no views in the last 30 days. Will keep 19% for some time and will see. If something sells, great.

Let us know. I have had it at 19% for about 3 weeks or more.

I have been at 13%. (Visits the past month 130) I had 9 sales so far during May. 4 were from “outsiders” (non members of bonanza) 4 others were from members of bonanza, and 1 was an ebay sale. I just upped it to 19% to see if anything changes.

Funny, I thought I got more views at 13% then I have at 19%.

misskeech says: May 26, 2016

Maybe 13% is the lucky number Lol

I am at 19%….1 view the past month….My last sale was in Oct of 2015. But i really cleaned up my booth recently and only have 6 items up now., but not really an excuse since I just cleaned it up the other day., I plan on adding new items to see if the views go up or not. I may go to 30% once i add more items.

Keep in mind that as summer approaches, USUALLY this is a slower time for sales as people are out doing outside things.

That being said, I came here for the ability to list at no cost and the VERY cheap sell fees. That it seems has gone to the darkside with all the expensive advertising and such that people are willingly buying into. If I wanted to pay 13 pct, I would just move back over into the auction site.

When I last looked (a while back) the top percent was 19 which I would never opt into. I now see there is a 30 pct. What exactly does the 30 pct fee get you? Does it package and ship your item??? Thats almost like paying juice money. That is one heck of a bite out of your sale price.

Currently I am at 9 pct and that is where I will stay while I am here for now (of which I dont know how long I will hold out before moving back over to the original darkside).

Good Luck to all.

Speaking for my self, the 19% got me nothing. As for the time of the year, I get sales all year round so that is not the case here for me. I am not going to try the 30% because nothing is happening with the 19%. I am suppose to have excess to 4.1 million shoppers at the 19%.

misskeech says: May 26, 2016

But you are not always charged that amount, usually you are charged much less that what you sign up for.

Atomicdiner says: May 27, 2016

99.5 percent of the time, I am charged the high percent I signed up for. Just once around the holidays, I did the 13 and got charged that plus Preypal pct. Too much of a bite without me needing to raise the costs so went back to 9 pct.

Recently joined the site with almost 300 items. I change from 13% to 19%, never tried 30%. 3 out of 4 sales were in the 19% range. All sales from Google Shopping. I also sell on the river and yes, slow season guys. Keep listing!!BTW I haven’t signed up to any membership yet, thinking about trying silver for a while…

So how do you know if the sales were because of the 19%. You get Google shopping at the 13%.

farfan_entertainment says: May 26, 2016

I sold those items wgen I had the 19% on. It also shows on the fees I had to pay, they were very close to 19%.

misskeech says: May 26, 2016

Farfan, bonz will never charge you over the percentage you pick. I had 13% and some of my items sold at 10% or less.

farfan_entertainment says: May 27, 2016

Yes, 3 of the 4 items sold where in the 19%, fee was 18.3%. The other item was sold in the 13% setting.

Hoping others continue to chime in.

I don’t find this to be a slow season for me. On other venues I have done well. Had 9 orders on another site for May so far and I am selling the same kind of merchandise. Have had no luck here yet and have been here for about 1 and a half to 2 months.

Good to see some feel like the advertising is working for them. Good luck to all of you.

I dont think it has alot to do with the season, people are always going to buy things, everyone is online now, almost everyone carries a phone., so can’t really blame it on the season. What i think part of the problem is, people charge MORE on bonanza than they do on ebay! why not buy it from ebay?

Atomicdiner says: May 27, 2016

Im guessing that they NEED to charge more because they are doint 19 or 30 pct and auction site is not that high. Im probably the only one (in the world) without a phone. Nobody answered WHAT you get for the 30 pct.

I do 9% and get 1-3 sales a month. And i get even more than that because, some people go on eBay and buy the item. So sometimes bonanza gives me more ebay traffic and sales.

Wish it wasn’t that way but bonanza has those things that make people trace back to ebay…..

Anyways any sale made on here saves me money over ebay, every time.

If you want more sales you need to have more items.

Your store is lovely Jen. Wishing you continued success.

doesn’t really matter what it is set at if you are not using social media….google rules where, when and how much ads are now…so once the ad is placed…once it is clicked on…it is used..if it does not result in a sale… that’s the way it goes….

unless you take things in your hands….throwing more money at it is not going to do much good unless your booth is like a big box store with thousands of items….or you are on the big name sites….

google new search parameters that went into effect in May has totally strangled all views every where…..

even those who have have had previous success are struggling right now

my twitter runs 14-16 hrs a day with ads and info that I share….these links increase my google presence and bring sales…well at least it did until Sun…I had an accident and have not been able to do much since then…and it has taken me 20 mins to type this left handed….lol

Hi ccmom, believe it or not I have never done social media and I have had sales. I stopped listing here because of the sad views I do get and I was selling on other venues well. So I am not sure what I am going to do here, I have not decided.

StarletVintageJewels says: May 27, 2016

But I have never been on a platform for this long with out one sale and such tiny views. I was hoping the advertising levels here would help with sales but apparently they don’t. As for Google its always changing something or another, its the nature of the beast. Sorry about your accident.

StarletVintageJewels says: May 27, 2016

Hope your feeling better soon.

ccmom says: May 27, 2016

I don’t list on other venues….and I do not depend on the platform….I do my own ads here and on my own website…if I wanted the venue to do all the work…then I would have stayed on ebay and put up with their mess…broken shoulder..bruised..and battered, but ok

I closed my vintage jewelry some time ago….it never did take off here…I have 3 booths so 1 of the 3 didn’t make it…

I’m on Bonanza for about 2 weeks, had 1 sale on “organic traffic”. Then after this sale switched to 9% advertising, hoping to get another sale or two. Views immediately jumped to 47. But it haven’t happened. That was about 4 days ago. NO CHANGE over these 4 days. 47 views total, including early Monday morning.
very strange.

You have a lovely shop posterz. Congrats on the sale. I actually think I had better views when I did not have the 19% advertising. My views are horribly low here.

The last time I had a sale on this Booth was 3-1-16. I don’t care what level I have it at nothing sells on here.
Why? I have no idea. I’m currently at 19% hoping for better days and yesterday I added more products but I am very discouraged with all online selling right now. My Ebay store has sold nothing since th 27th of May. Anyone have any ideas what is going on? I have a store on ecrater, ebid and Amazon and all are dead. 2 booths on Bonanza and 2 on Ebay.

I don’t have a problem selling on other venues so I can’t tell you. The views here are non-existent with the advertising. There have been changes to Google again, but there are always changes to Google, some small some large.

About a month ago, I changed to 19% advertising fee. Last week I got a $19.99 order and later got a $189.00 order from the same buyer. So that was encouraging and the most I have sold in 1 day, 1 week and/or 1 month on Bonanza. I will keep the rate at 19% for the upcoming month. If sales go back to little or nothing, then I’ll pull the plug on the 19% and go back to 13%.

answered almost 9 years ago

I have tried both the 19% and 30% options. I had assumed the 30% would generate a lot more traffic and ultimately sales. It did not. I am currently at the 19% level again and will probably stay there, as that is still sky high compared to other sites.
