Item condition

Why is it when I upload an item using my phone & am unable to fill in traits as often happens until I get to a computer, if most or all are left blank, I have viewed my items, why is it that if a trait like item condition is left blank not filled in, Bonanza automatically gives it a condition of used?? Why is it not simply left blank until I’m able to edit the listing? Find this very irritating. My computer is out of commission this week so any item I’m unable to add a condition to is being listed as used. Just curious as to why. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

I believe that the item’s condition defaults to USED because there has to be something in the field in case a seller doesn’t fill it in. From a buyer perspective, I’d rather buy an item that was marked as used and receive a new item in the package than be upset because I assumed the item to be new and received a used item.

You can always do most of the item listing on the mobile app and then use the “Save & Do Not Post For Sale” option when creating a new listing. You can recall those listings and fill in the traits later.

That makes sense, maybe that is their reasoning. Thanks for the insight, I hadn’t thought of it that way.
