Item specifics

Having to click the “Details” link to get item specifics is ridiculous. Why make the customer do extra work to see the details of what they want to buy. It didn’t use to be that way. I want to open a listing and see Size, Color, Brand, etc…

curious…I never see that, I open the listing and everything is there….but I always use desktop/chrome and not mobile/tablet when working on my bonz stores…also there is an option on my tablet to view as desktop which I always use too, because mobile versions limit the amount of information viewable… I notice that many say they cannot do/see/or do not like the layout of something which I do not see …so just curious as to how people are viewing the site….

However, I do see it on other sites, no matter what device I choose to use

I’m on my desktop… when I open a listing and and view item specifics, it has "view details next to each one. You don’t see that?

Correction!!!!! I was on “Internet Explorer”. When I use Google Chrome all the deails are visible at once : ) Soorry

Hit “enter” too fast. Sorry Bonanza, no one uses Internet Explorer anymore anyway (Except me).

ccmom says: August 14, 2016

many never consider that what they see, may not be what others see..long time ago maybe, but now with different browsers, settings, virus program blocks and devices, nothing appears the same to everyone….

Jewelsbelegance says: August 14, 2016

so most people use Google Chrome & in that search format all details are already shown to buyers?

Agree Tweetys- just saw that for the first time yesterday- don’t like it at all but so many new problems with Google changes I hope these are workarounds to get those fixed. (I, too, use the dinosaur Internet Explorer!)

This is an official Bonanza response.

Hi Tweety,
Thanks for writing about having to click on Details in the listing. This error is from the internet browser. We recommend clearing the browser’s cache (delete temp files, delete cookies, clear history), then rebooting. If that doesn’t help then you may want to make sure the browser that you using is the most updated version (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox). Ensure your browser is accepting third party cookies, and that JavaScript is enabled.
If you still have trouble seeing your listing details please contact us at support@bonanza.com.
Thanks!

Could not agree more. I was horrified to see that! Customers don’t want to do extra work just to see details, its very annoying, hope they change it back. With the decreased traffic on this site compared to other sites, it would not be wise to make it unpleasant for the shoppers who do come here.

Perhaps Bonz is just morphing into what the auction site does (follow the leader even if they are walking you into the path of a train). I think it has something to do with the mobile users because of the volume of data thrown on such a small screen format. Just a guess on my part but I dont agree with that decision either. Too much information is never a bad idea (unless something is going to gross you out).

Unfortunately, bonz does not dictate the format required to be mobile compliant in order for items to be seen.

Jewelsbelegance says: August 14, 2016

if Bonanza didn’t dictate this change in format who would then? they had something to do with it, its THEIR website. never seen this on other sites. but from a shopper’s perspective, very irritating, not user friendly, unnecessary waste of time

ccmom says: August 14, 2016

search engines decide what they will or will not show and the format for shopping..so no, bonz makes changes to satisfy google, bing, yahoo..whatever, so that your items are shown…

ccmom says: August 14, 2016

last year google said..not listings will show, if they are not compliant for mobile devices..therefore, for buyers to find your items, bonz made the changes..they didn’t have to, but then submitting to google would be useless…

Bonanza mirrors eBay so what eBay does, Bonanza does – whether good or bad….however, it seems many selling venues are now making all sorts of these changes to accommodate mobile users

But adding such a feature does not accommodate mobile users, in fact it makes this site more difficult & annoying to use for them! every site needs to be user friendly . & on eBay I don’t have to click anything to see item details

Tweetys says: August 14, 2016

Exactly…I have to keep clicking “View Details” to see all the item specifics. By the time I’m done I have to start over. No one wants to shop like this Bonanza!! I also believe it has something to do with the amount of data that is stored on their server, less data saves them money. My opinion.

ccmom says: August 14, 2016

that’s funny because on ebay I always have to click to see details…

Would be better if customer could see the specifics already displayed, like it used to be at all sites. There’s another site I visit where I have to click to see, and as CCMom said, it’s probably eBay.

Strangely, I always use Firefox, and sometimes I can go to my Bonz product listings and the specifics are there without having to click link to open. Most of the time, though, I have to click to see description.

What is causing this difference when I use the same browser? Was so happy when I saw specifics automatically shown. Thought it was a permanent [URL removed] , but it reverted.
