One (1) year mark!

Surprisingly, got a 1 Yr Bonanzler badge this week! My, how time flies. Doesn’t seem like a yr at all!

I do like it here. Bonz has a lot to offer. Thanks to Bonz admin for a great free booth and nice features. My sales need help, but problem is partially because I don’t yet have time to promote and list like I want. But I will!

Bonz is not my only venue, and I’m in process of sorting my products among old and new shops according to branding. I don’t think handmades sell as well here as manufactured products, but I still like being here. Bonanza has a place in my life, and I’m sorting that out.

Thanks to all who have been friendly and helpful, who have shared my products in their handpicked lists, who have favorited my shop and endorsed it, who have stopped by chat, and who have answered my questions. I really appreciate your help and friendship!

Thanks so much!

In honor of my 1st Yr Anniversary, I created a handpicked list. It’s called Fins & Tails. ![URL removed] [URL removed]

I learned to fish as a child through my grandmother. I learned to use a bamboo pole with those round, plastic red and white floats, and a rod and reel.

A lot of times my grandmother made her bait out of some gummy, bread-like substance. It was always smelly and had to be rolled into balls and put on the hook. She also used worms, and I even learned to thread them on the hook. Makes me a little sick to think about it now! Bleck! I scaled fish, cut ‘em, gutted ’em and fried ’em up. We did have fun playing with those fish bladders, lol! Don’t know if they were lungs or not, but we called them bladders.

Haven’t been fishing lately. Been a while. Hope to go again. I enjoy using a rod and reel with lures now. So many pretty lures out there for sale.

Have a nice day!

The bait you speak of is called Dough bait. She probably soaked it in meat or chicken blood. The worse it smelled, the more it attracted the fish. They used to sell it commercially in plastic tubs (for catfish). You would not want to be downwind of the bait as it smelled pretty bad.

Lol. Yeah, it WAS called dough bait, and I have seen tubs of something like that in bait shops. Not sure, but I think she also used cheese, because she liked to eat Limburger cheese, and we hated it. Had to leave the room when she ate it, lol. Thanks for commenting!

Congrats on making a year!
