What determines the hierarchy of product placement in searches and keyword item specific search results on the bonz

This is probably a question for one of the Bonz crew. 3 new items listed all at same time a few days ago. Newly added items used to appear at or near the top of searches. Trying multiple keyword searches in the main search bar and even narrowing searches in categories to find my items, I finally found them randomly buried many pages deep if at all in searches that would be vital to a customer finding that product.(ie. if an item is cataloged as Abercrombie top it does not appear in Abercrombie & Fitch top even though all those words appear in the item title.) Some but most of our items are not yet listed in the new catalog feature. I would like to see Bonz incorporate the catalog feature into the item listing page allowing sellers to categorize their own products. After all, who better knows their product and their buyers than the seller?

There seems to have been a change recently in search. Some items seem to be stuck on the first page for a long time and I have noticed that newer items use to show up on the top in search are now being buried. As a buyer I would like to see new items displayed when I come in a site, but now it is just the same old stuff for weeks.

Great idea about the catalog. Right now there are very few items in the catalog. I am worried that buyers will just see the catalog and not realize that the catalog does not represent everything available on the site.
