What kind of notice do sellers get for offers?

Past offers I’ve made have been accepted and completed within 12 hours or so. Made one yesterday that the seller has not replied to yet. New-ish seller, no FB here yet; all imported from other sites.

Just wondering if they get a notice or if they only see it when they log in. Might be out of town this time of year, I guess.

Also, are they supposed to reply even if they decline? Or can one just expire without a reply?

Interesting to see this kind of thing hidden.

Sellers are notified by their email which looks almost exactly like the notification that the buyer gets and there is a notification on their seller dashboard when they log in. They don’t expire, but then the item is tied up in the OBO until they either accept or decline..so it is in their best interest to act upon the OBO, though if the buyer does not return after the acceptance and pay for the item, there is a 7 day wait for the buyer to cancel and relist

My guess…since you said lots of imports and newish..they may not have figured out how OBO works yet…

…Try sending a message to them and check their last log in

joined 08/31/15 active 06/14/16 Is that what you mean? I can’t tell if that was before or after the offer was submitted. I don’t want to rush them if they work a day job.

yes..but if it has only been a few hours..you may need to consider time zones…I do not know where you or the seller is located…for me your post was around 5:30 am…

I got the email at 6:43 AM CDT yesterday 6/14 that I sent an offer, so it’s been a little over 24 hours. I guess my question is are seller supposed to acknowledge the offer and actively accept or decline, or can they just let it expire if they don’t like it? Or do they expire?

I am pretty sure the seller can ignore the offer., and that it may expire. With this said, i dont think its very good for their business to do that, I would not do it, I believe some type of response should be in order. But as ccmom and others have said, it could be any number of reasons.

Private_Buyer,
I would send your buyer an email thanking them for visiting your booth to see if you receive a response. If not, they changed their mind or it’s spam. Since this had happened to me twice, once on a sale which almost did not go through and the other a spam, I was advised to change one of my settings which I am happy I did. You can change the setting for reviewing all transactions first. The buyer adds the item to their cart and pays. At that point they could remove the item from their cart or moved on and pay. I am happy this was suggested to me because now I am not sitting their waiting on an email which I am holding up the buyer from paying because I have to review, accept or deny their order. Just a suggestion! Good luck with your sale.

Uhhh, I’m the buyer who made the offer.

Sorry! I misread the post early this morning. The buyer might if forgot to place their booth on vacation. If no answer by tomorrow I would send a note to Bonanza support.

I agree with the others on contacting the Seller to clear up any confusion with your offer.
They may not have had time to read, review and determine if they want to accept your offer. The message may have gone into their junk mail folder and they may have missed the online notification as well.

Also; as ccmom said they may not be up to date on the “Offer” process, as it has changed since the last one I received.
Good luck on your potential purchase, I hope it works out well for both you and the seller.

As a seller, how would you want to see such a message worded if a buyer sent one to you?

misskeech says: June 15, 2016

I believe its a form letter, so there is not much we, as sellers, can do about it as far as how it is written. But would be nice if we can do our own Lol. Anyway, good luck to you, hope you are able to reach the seller.
