158 items on my unsold (not yet relisted) list, I have checked the boxes to import unsold listings, after it’s done I end up about 10 old (deleted or expired) items that aren’t even on the list at all! Same thing happens every time I try. None of the items I want to get listed here will even show up but 10 items that are not even showing on my unsold list seem to be able to be uploaded? I may have ended them as “no longer available” but they usually just end up on my unsold list no matter what I select as the reason for ending sales.
I’m almost certain now that it is only grabbing the ended items that were ended early and were ended 1 at a time. The bulk endings I did do not have a chance to select a reason for ending them and that’s why they are not showing up, just those that have had the box marked as no longer available. Those are the only items that SHOULD NOT be imported for any reason. I had to go through and delete another 50 or so items that I have for sale on ebay right now and don’t want them listed here until after they have gone unsold on ebay.
this plan seems to be useless now that I cannot import those items here after they have gone unsold on ebay. I could have 170 items listed here right now but I only have 25 and most of them I had to manually make or I canceled them on ebay once they were listed here.
So the import tool is useless for me. I will try another means to import but this is kind of defeating the reason I decided to start selling here, I didn’t want to have to put in endless days of work on a site that would most likely yield no sales.

I had to repair all of my imported files when I tried to do this on e-bid, it took me 2 days to fix 45 listings and it was all for nothing. They all had pictures but needed to have shipping corrected as well as categories adjusted, this seems like it’s way more work to get these listed, transferring pictures from 181 unlisted ebay sales is not anything that can be done quickly as far as I know. The only sure way to do it is to show each listing and click on each picture and save them to my HD. Then log on here and upload them. That could take me all week. That’s about 2000 pictures clicking and saving and I’ll bet I’ll need to create a new name for each one before I can save it. That’s if the only missing part is the pictures, I have4n’t even looked at any of the actual listings yet to see what may be missing in text.
I checked m CSV file format but I saw it while it was showing in a csv file reader as a spreadsheet, (doesn’t show the details for separation, then again in word pad and saw commas were used but the header titles had no underscores between the words. each column was titled with 1 continuous word with no spaces (in the spreadsheet view also).
I used turbo lister 2 to export the file for uploading, I don’t know of any others that will work for sure so I didn’t bother looking.
I’m not familiar with any office formats at all, this was my second time dealing with a csv file and I’m not very fond of using anything that isn’t a simple straight forward text format. I will avoid using word if possible and I will even go as far as produce my text docs that have pictures using Paintshop Pro to make jpeg pictures of my documents rather than any office documents. i do all of my editing of text documents in jpeg form and I can match the text seamlessly even on original printed docs that need repairs from bad copies.
So you see I have avoided using anything like this for many years. I have tried using OCR programs before and found them to be impossible to get the results I needed. always incorrect columns and nonuniform looking paragraphs. Sentences that have improper spacing and run off the pages. I cannot be messing around with csv files, I have no time to spend learning about old office formats just to get things listed. there has to be a more compatible program that will properly deligate the correct format as needed. If there is not, then your end needs to conform to the others to make this work for sellers.
There’s a bunch of listings that keeps getting smaller every day as they expire on ebay, I have no way of saving them other than the turbo lister so I’m stuck with what I have for now, without knowing exactly what the problem is I can’t even begin to make any corrections to the csv file. I’m sure that there are many others who have been using word and office for years but you’ll find that’s not going to be true for many users who were never working in an office setting or even newer generations who will never need to create new forms since they are pretty much all standardized now. I don’t know anyone who knows how to make a spreadsheet or even really knows what a csv file is.
I’m thinking that this is going to be the trend of what you will be dealing with, kind of like those people who still can use dos successfully. 10 years ago you had to be able to do some DOS commands just to keep your computer running, now it makes no difference if you have ever heard of DOS or even if you know how to use the RUN command prompt at all. Used to be part of the list on the right click in windows now it’s only there if you’re in trouble and you’ll bet there’s a book opened to that chapter as I fight my way through the senseless commands just to end up reinstalling the entire OS in 10 minutes and being done with it.
