Accepting credit cardss on bonanza

I’d like some input from anyone who has started the new feature of accepting credit card payments right on Bonanza without having to use Amazon Payments or Paypal. Do you see a marked increase in sales using this feature? Thanks!

Out of my last 8 sales, 4 of them were paid with direct CC payment. Now, it is entirely possible that those buyers would have also paid with PayPal if they had not been given the choice of using direct CC payment. That’s because customers can pay with a CC through PayPal.

Even though I have to wait a few days to have the CC funds deposited into my checking account, I would encourage direct CC payment just to eliminate the 180-day rule that PayPal implemented on certain types of returns.

About how long does it take to get the funds into your account? Amazon Payments makes me crazy!!

longer than CBA..here are terms for Direct Checkout [URL removed]

Somewhere between 5 and 7 business days. Not exactly sure and (for me) it doesn’t matter as I have an account exclusively for my internet sales and can “float” the funds for a few days. I know that not everybody can do that.

From what i understand from reading it, it depends on your history with Bonanza or how long you have been on here.

Just an update on one of [URL removed] Sale made 6-28, delivered 7-3, still have not gotten paid.

I would go ahead and do it, if you can. I did it a while back. I am getting direct CC payments in about the same amount as Checkout by Amazon payments. Can’t hurt to have another option for buyers to pay by.

When I first got it, I had several buyers use it, but I believe it was simply as an alternative, for my monthly average sales have not really changed all that much…

Eve, I suspect your feedback is preventing Bonanza from offering this service to you.

I will be honest, we have been selling online for almost 7 years now through various channels, including our own site, and I find the business practices regarding Bonanza accepting credit cards to be less than honest. Some things you need to [URL removed]

1.) Regardless of what they tell you, it takes close to 10 days to receive your payment (we are on day 11 on on of ours).
2.) Chargebacks incur a $30 fee, regardless of outcome. Bonanza fights the chargeback for you but does not tell you any information on the process, the reason for the chargeback, or the outcome. You have no recourse in fighting or appealing it.
3.) There is NO transparency in terms of their levels of risk (for example, buyer uses a credit card not in their name, from a different state/country/etc., using a different IP address). On our other sites, the card would be rejected or at the very least we get a notification that the activity is suspicious and we should keep an eye out for it. We get nothing of this on here. They process the card throw it up on the wall, and see if it sticks. We are starting to request signatures on all transactions over $75 to mitigate this risk but frankly, we should have more information.
4.) Customer service is BEYOND slow getting back to you and when they do, many times it is with very incomplete information.

Bottom line, using credit cards here, with very little information, is a huge risk. If your business can take that risk, go ahead, but if enough of us ask these questions, maybe Bonanza will answer them. We are seriously thinking of disabling our account, or at least, disabling the credit card portion, until we get some answers.

EvePek, Bonanza allows to accept credit and debit cards directly from customers only to sellers whose business and bank account are based in the United States.

I’m based in Europe, if you are based in China – we both can’t use it.

If you sell and send items from China, but you are based in the US, then maybe ToysAndTreasuries is right.
