Is there any way to block buyers who have fewer than 10 purchases on Bonanza? I have had problems with two Bonanza buyers so far- both of them purchased an item from me the same day they joined Bonanza. AS a fairly new Bonanza seller who is learning to navigate this landscape myself, I would truly prefer to only have transactions with people who have a track record of purchases on Bonanza.

About 99.5 percent of my buyers are ONE HIT Wonders (and I wonder where they disappeared to after completing the transaction as they never get any more feedback after my initial sale to them.)
If I blocked these buyers, I would sell nothing (not that sales have been great here lately anyway). Also, dont expect feedback from those One Hit Wonders as they dont seem to return to give it (but a sale is a sale).

Why would you want to block new customers? Selling to them is the only way for them to establish a track record with you. Unless you have reason to believe they are frauds why do you not want their business? Been here 9 years with never a fraud. Good luck and happy selling :-)

Then you will probably never get any sales…I would say, except those who are also sellers here…a majority of the buyers, find the items in google shopping or through an ad and are usually one time…very rarely return buyers unless, they really really can’t find what they are looking for elsewhere…
I have had around a 1000 sales between my 3 booths and only the one that sold collectible teddy bears had return buyers…probably 975 of the sales were first time buyers here….

I agree, you will not get any sales i would think, if you block them. The majority of my “outsider customers” have only signed up with bonanza to purchase the item they were looking for, i would say about 97% of my customers had 0 feedback till i left fb for them. This is not ebay, buyers do not head here to see what they want, they come here thru google or another search engine to “find” something they can’t find anyplace else. I love new buyers, if you dont want them, send them over to me. I have never had a problem yet with one.

Your option…it will be a long wait..unless it is a seller already registered here…
As said above…buyers are not required to register and if they choose not to register..then there is no record kept of how many purchases they have made, the information is not kept……..so even if they have purchased here 10 or more times, there is no way to know…unless the use the same anon_buyer (bonz_buyer) account (which many don’t/won’t because it is just created for that purchase.). But I think you already know this since you have been here for some time…

Everyone who commented is trying to encourage you, not judge or offend you, though it can seem and feel offensive. As you probably already know, the ability to do whatever is necessary to make sales here is at a premium. This is why Bonanza sellers are so determined to not lock out any potential customers, and why many would encourage you like this.
I understand that you said you had some problems with some new members who purchased the day that they joined. Because of that you’ve decided on a method that would work for you in dealing with these types of problematic customers. I hope that you are able to tweak your settings so that you can have a measure of peace about your unfortunate experiences.
I would say “Welcome to BONANZA!!!,” but I think someone said you’ve been her awhile. I will say “GOOD LUCK” though. :)

I would also consider what could have possibly make the sale go sour. In doing so we have to look not only at the buyer but at ourselves as possible reasons this happened. Was I as communicative as I should be, was my description fair and accurate – full disclosure about the item. Many things that figure into the situation, besides it being a scam buyer, especially if it happens with frequency. Like others, nearly ALL my buyers joined the day they made a purchase. Businesses operate on the desire to acquire new buyers and grow their market. Basing our willingness to sell to a potential buyer based on their buying history with other vendors may reduce risk to us but telling people they have to buy ten items from someone else before you can sell them one may not be the best strategy. If however, you want to send those first ten to me, we would be grateful.

I’ve been on Bonanza for a good many years and most of my buyers had 0 buys but lately there has been a LONG string of non-responding buyers. They want to buy but never respond. I think too many don’t READ the listing. Years ago when I sold on eBay this problem came up. Ebay then started requiring new buyers when they register to watch a tutor film about reading everything in a listing which seemed to work. Perhaps Bonanza should start doing that plus requiring all buyers to register. And it’s strange when I go back and check these non-responding buyer’s name they never show any further transaction – they just seem to disappear……
