You cannot make the materials traits option if it does not exist in the category you are using. You can suggest it to support for the category you are interested.
If the category you are using has the material option then it should have the Many Materials Option in the drop down menu
If you click on that then boxes open at bottom of Item traits area and you can fill as many different options as you need..
It will show
Material
Material #2
continue clicking on link to add as many as you need
However, I did note there is no specific category for Cell Phone cases…if the materials option is not in the category you selected then you will have to make a request to have it added

used to have Suggest Traits link, but can’t seem to find it now..
there may be something here that can help too

There is a materials option in this category tree
Computers/Tablets & Networking > iPad/Tablet/eBook Accessories > Cases, Covers, Keyboard Folios
If the item trait is available for the category you selected, it will also show when listing or in the
Update Items as a group (batch edit)
Item Traits
Click on green button
Edit item traits for all Filtered Items…

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
