How did this happen?

I’m at a total loss right now… over the weekend I made an offer on a silver bread tray to a seller — I was excited to see that he had accepted my offer and then I notice that he changed the image and put a note in the offer acceptance that just says, “this one has handle” — but I don’t want this one it’s totally different. I’ve asked him if the other one that I was actually interested in is still available and he has not responded. (I just emailed him again) — My confusion is two fold 1) how on earth was he able to change the image??? and 2) how do I now get rid of this ‘commitment to buy’ … Help …

I’m sorry this has happened to You.

To question nr 1 only Bonanza support can give You some answer.

As far as nr 2 is concerned, I believe that as a Buyer You have the right not to proceed with the purchase – especially in these [URL removed] You are not obliged to buy a different item.

Have You already paid or not?

[URL removed] you don’t have to purchase…truthfully, most don’t after offer has been accepted. [URL removed] I would not buy if it is not what you made the offer on, and being the item you did not make offer on, you are not committed
[URL removed] that is a good question, someone is not supposed to be able to change a listing after a sale, but since he probably changed it before he accepted the offer (so technically, it was not sold yet)..a little loophole that should be addressed

I would, not pay…and if there is an issue from the seller, take to the resolution center…sending the message that to you of the item change

Bonz can always check when items were updated/changed so the change would be on record after the offer was made…and they have access to the messages too…so you have that as proof of the switch

Hello mace_[URL removed]

Best answer to question #1 is in Trinketbox’s third note above. Answer to question #2 is that you should take any necessary steps to not pay, or void your purchase. Get Bonz support to help if necessary. It stands to reason that none of us should have to pay for a product that was changed after we placed our order, no matter what stage the order processing is in. Cancel it, stop it, end it, get it refunded, whatever it takes, and write to the seller about how you feel.

Some sellers are so desperate for sales that they will do anything, to the expense of the buyer. The professional thing to do would have been to let you know what happened, apologize profusely, and ask if you would be interested in considering a similar item.

Good luck to you!
