How does the shipping exemption fee work?

I am new to the site, coming from that “other” site – and for the life of me I can’t figure out how this works. Can someone please explain it to me, preferably with real-life examples?
Thank you. I am looking forward to selling on Bonanza.

Basically the easiest way to look at it is [URL removed] Shipping fees of up to $10.00 per sale will be subtracted from the amount you owe in final value fees on the sale. Any amount charged for shipping over $10 you will be charged final value fees on.

Here’s one example from an Item I [URL removed] The Order Amount totalled $42.75 Price of the item sold was $24.99 Shipping amount was $17.76 as it was a very heavy item. Therefore on that sale my final value fee was figured on $32.75 which comes from adding $24.99 plus $7.76 together or just subtracting $10 from the total sale amount. So if the shipping cost is more than $10 you pay final value fees on only the shipping amount over $10.

Here are two more [URL removed]
On another sale the total sale amount was $10.68 Price of the Item Sold was $7.99 plus Shipping of $2.69 My final value fees were figured on $7.99 the entire shipping cost was subtracted from the sale before final value fees were figured.

Now on another sale I made where I offered free shipping shipping included in the amount of the product The Sale was for $15.00 total and final value fees were figured on $15.00 since there was no way for Bonanza to know how much shipping cost.

This I believe was initially setup to prevent folks from circumventing final value fees by Selling an item for $1.00 and charging $19.99 shipping. I’m sure you’ve run across those having come from the bay. At least I know in the old days before the bay changed the way they figured final value fees there were many taking advantage of the fact that shipping charges didn’t incur final value fees. Same thing here on Bonz in the beginning.
