Items disapproved by google because of validation/invalid value #mpn

the items that were rejected are all my handmade earrings and DIY kits. some are fine with google. i have no idea what i m doing wrong.

I was under the impression that the MPN is something that i come up with myself since these are all handmade by me. i got gtins included. they are EAN. brand name is unbranded.

could it be that my MPN is too long? is there a specific requirement when u come up with your own MPN?

or is there something that i do not understand what google is saying. please advise. thanks.

Hi @LadyTrinket,

Thanks for your post and so sorry for your trouble with Google Shopping. We do see that you currently have 28 items disapproved by Google Shopping, with “Validation/invalid value#MPN” being the disapproval reason. [URL removed]

We took a look at a few of the disapproved items, and did see that Google Shopping is producing the reason for disapproval as “Value too long in [URL removed] mpn” meaning the MPN is too long. Try updating the MPN to a shorter length on the disapproved items. On your feed diagnostics page (linked above), you will see a link that says “Batch edit all”. That will open up the disapproved items in your batch editor where you can edit them en masse. After you’ve completed the edits, return to your “Add or edit items” page (hover over “Selling” link and click “Add or edit items” link from the drop-down menu) and click the button to update your booth so your items will refresh in Google Shopping.

It may take up to 72 hours for your items to be indexed and appear on Google Shopping’s platform once the listings are reviewed and approved. If your listings are not approved and published in the next 72 hours, please let us know by emailing us at support@bonanza.com. Hope this information helps and thank you again for your post!

Google will just do what google wants to do. Personally I stopped worrying about their “approval” long, long ago. But that said, I also understand people wanting to get as much exposure as possible. I do my best with every listing but sometimes I just don’t have a UPC and that’s all it takes for them to spit you off their radar.

Speaking of UPC’s, do you have a number for your items? If not, that’s a reason they’ll “disapprove” of your items. If your items are handmade, you can purchase a UPC code for them. They are pretty inexpensive on eBay. Like under $5.00 for a bunch.

You need UPCs for handmade items? I have handmade items, and i dont have any upc or mpn codes and my items are on google shopping., or it says they are anyway.
