Problems updating items via csv

I’m trying to update my items using the csv import / upload… I downloaded an export of my items, edited it, and trying to upload it back to update my items. I have not made any changes to the ID field, and Force_Update is set to True.

Instead of updating my existing listings, it is creating new listings for every entry in my csv file.

I’m at witts end on this… I want it to update my titles, descriptions, and traits… I need to be able to update my available sizes which are listed in both my titles and in the traits of my listings… I don’t have time to do these one at a time to run an update… What am I doing wrong?

Hi @AmysTreasureTrove,

Thanks for reaching out and so sorry for the trouble. When you use the export option on Bonanza and reimport the same file, sometimes the Bonanza ID will change during the upload and create duplicate listings. This has been reported to our tech team and they are looking into it further. In the meantime, when you export your listings to update we recommend using the “SKU” option instead of “ID” to avoid this issue. If you’ve already exported a file using ID, we recommend deleting that column or exporting a new file with ID unchecked and SKU checked, instead. We apologize for any inconvenience.

You must use the ‘force_update’ option in order for changes to be uploaded to your Bonanza listings. Please note that only listings which were originally uploaded via CSV can be updated using the CSV “force_update” option. If your listings originated from another source, such as eBay, you will need to update your listings on that platform and then use the “revise” option to edit your listings on Bonanza.

Hope that helps. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know at our support department. Thanks!

See Katyoke's booth

cvs imports items, does not update or make changes to existing [URL removed] I see that this is no longer true

[URL removed] I now see that there is that option….

Import descriptions as text only (no HTML)

Remove all previously imported items from booth that aren’t in the inventory file

Revise descriptions, titles, and traits of already-imported items (slow).
[URL removed] we’ll always update price or quantity if they change.

I guess when it means slow perhaps you should wait a bit (24 hrs) to see if the changes have been made before trying to do it again

Personally, if I used this method, I would just remove the old listings and add the new versions,…but I use batch edit for updates..and your booth is small enough that it probably would have taken less time to batch edit than it would have to try several force updates
