Can a buyer make you pay for return postage? On eBay, buyers will just say there’s a problem with the item so you have to pay return postage and there money is taken out of your account immediately. Can a buyer on Bonanza say there’s a problem with the item and force you to pay return postage.

No, they can’t. Do you have it listed that you will pay for returns? If you dont, then no, bonanza will not make you do it, however IF the buyer paid thru paypal, they can always go thru paypal and complain to them, and possibly something can be done that way. But not thru bonanza unless you have it stated in your booth.

Whatever your return policy is, if a buyer pays with PayPal (or uses credit card through PayPal) AND the item is defective, not as described, or a few other reasons that PayPal allows, then the buyer does get a refund for their full amount of purchase — including the shipping that they originally paid.
If YOU request that the item be returned to you if the buyer makes a PayPal claim, then PayPal states that the seller pays for any return shipping. Again, this is only if the buyer wins a PayPal claim under PayPal’s Buyer Protection rules. And, the website that the buyer uses to purchase the item does not matter. If a seller accepts PayPal on any site, then the seller agrees to following all of PayPal’s rules and policies.

The guiding principle in PayPal’s rules is that a buyer should never be out any money at all if an item is broken, SNAD, or got shipped the wrong item. If the buyer simply has buyer’s remorse or ordered the incorrect item, then it is up to the buyer to absorb any extra shipping costs. Hopefully, the buyer is honest about the reason for the return.
