Shipping charges shown in google shopping are wrong.

I just spent a few minutes browsing Google Shopping to see if my items are showing up. The good news is, they are showing up! The bad news is that the shipping charges being shown are way too high and have no similarity to the shipping charges in my listings on Bonanza. One item, for example, showed a domestic shipping charge of over $118.00! It is no wonder than my items are not selling! Anyone have any idea why this is happening? BTW, items with free shipping do show correctly.

Thanks and happy new year!

This is an official Bonanza response.

Happy New Year to you as well! It sounds like the items you are viewing in Google Shopping are items you have on Bonanza that have calculated shipping. In order for items with calculated shipping to be published on Google Shopping, they need to have a set shipping cost. Because we submit a “marketplace” feed to Google Shopping, this is impossible to do because each seller offers different levels of service, different carriers, etc. So in order to get your and others calculated shipping items to appear in Google Shopping, we apply a formula that will display the higher cost of calculated shipping (if we underestimate, your and others items could be removed from Google Shopping). In speaking with Google about this, there is no other way to manage our marketplace feed for Calculated Shipping than we are currently doing. So given the limitations with our current Google Shopping feed, your best bet would be to offer fixed or free shipping if you can.

I find that fixed shipping fees work very well.

I browsed through your listings. Every one I checked came up as $28.88 via UPS ground to Denver. This is pretty expensive to start with. I suspect the $118.00 amount on Google is a reflection of UPS’s maximum rates. Perhaps you should consider USPS standard post instead. The correct amount (shown on Bonanza) would be more attractive to buyers, and the incorrect amount (shown on Google) would not be quite as outrageous.
