I am only accepting PayPal now. Should I sign up for direct checkout with credit cards? How long is your money held? Any issues for returns? Thank you!

Hi Shopjustgifts,
Thanks for asking about our Direct Checkout Program. It is currently offline while we are reworking the program. Stay tuned for our new and improved system!

Direct Checkout offers the buyer to use credit card directly instead of through PP (which the buyer can still use without a PP account…in this case PP becomes the CC processor instead of Braintree through Bonz)
The money is held for approx. 14 days (held 5-7 days after tracking is added) or up to 21 if you do not provide tracking…
Here is the information for Direct checkout, which I believe requires at least 10 bonanza fb before you can use

Just a warning. If the seller issues a chargeback to his credit card for any reason you will get a $30 chargeback fee even if the seller decides it was their mistake. It’s happened to me twice so I no longer accept credit cards through direct checkout. Both times it was not my fault so I didn’t have to return their payment but still had to pay the $30 chargeback fee. Hopefully this is one thing they will change with the revamp of direct checkout. If not, I will not sign up for it.

Remember these tips:
- Use links to other sources to support your opinions
- Use examples where possible
- Put yourself in the inquirers shoes: what extra info would be helpful?
Should I post a comment or an answer?
You can only post one answer, so make it count. Maybe your reply is more fitting as a comment instead?
Post an answer for:
- Replies that directly and specifically answer the original question
Post a comment for:
- "Thanks," "Me too," "I agree," or "Works for me" types of replies
- When you would like the original poster to provide more details
- When you have more to add to someone else's question or answer
