Updating specific columns of data using csv

Is it possible to update just specific columns of data using the CSV or do I have to have all columns of data to update it?

Reason I ask is that the description field contains html data that may cause the update to not complete successfully, there are a lot of commas in the file, so using a comma delimited import file will cause lots of problems unless I can update only specific pieces of data such as the id, sku, titles, and traits in order to update my available sizes and quantities…

Otherwise, I’ll be updating everything one item at a time which is a big pain…

Hi @AmysTreasureTrove,

Thanks for reaching out. You can use a force_update column to update your CSV files. By default, if an inventory file is uploaded that has the same ID as an already-processed item, we will ignore the item. However, if the force_update column is set to “true” for an item, then we will refresh all of the information for the item (and add any newly mentioned pictures), so if anything has changed it will be updated. You will need to have all data in the CSV columns to update; otherwise, any missing information on your CSV will be removed from your listings when you use the force_update.
