I have listed, along with other pieces of costume jewelry two necklaces of semi-precious stones – specifically one is rhodochrosite and quartz; the other is onyx and bone. They are not expensive stones, but they are considered semi-precious – as in formed naturally, rather than man made. That doesn’t mean they’re valuable.
So, what’s up with the “review?” And, why should it take 48 hours? Is Bonanza so short-staffed they don’t have anyone available to resolve these sorts of issues?
So, further, what are they going to review? Are they going to be looking up the definitions of the semi-precious gems; are they expected me to send them to them so they can take them to someone who can verify what they are?
This is bothering me a lot.

Sorry for the confusion. Items get reviewed for various reasons. Mostly if the item is in a high-risk category, or if it has a keyword that we have identified as one needing review. For example, if an item listed has a title of “Chanel handbag” then we may require a manual 48-hour review before posting it for sale (mostly because this is a category/keyword that we have deemed high-risk). Other times it could be a brand item that we were ordered to manually review to prevent counterfeit items from being posted for sale. Hope that helps.

Don’t relist them. We have done that, deleted item under review, re-listed, then all of a sudden the review one pops back up in our store and we then have duplicate listings.

I don’t think it’s because of rhodochrosite, quartz or onyx.
I would rather think about the ‘bone’ part. Have You specified the kind in Your listing (camel, yak, tiger, ivory, etc.)?
Some of them can’t be offered because of international trade restrictions and treaties banning the sale of such items.

What in the world is going on with this? I’ve been listing jewelry for years and years and years here – ever since this place opened! And I’m under review now? Why??? What triggers this?

I sell mainly dinnerware. I can see that the use of certain keywords such as “Bone” “Nazi” “war medal” etc might cause an item to be flagged for review. today, you have 151 tea cups on review. I cannot see what is so alarming in the description of a tea cup. While I understand the need to perform due diligence on listed items, honestly Bonanza, you need to ease up a bit. Many of us have been selling online for years on other venues and have never had as many red flagged items under review as I have seen in just over one month with you. If it upsets your sellers, then ultimately, it’s not great for you as a marketplace. If I might suggest that you tone down a bit on the reviews to the point where the words “tea cup” or “cup and saucer” do not cause an item to be flagged for further investigation.
