Jalapeños are probably the most popular chili sold in the United States and can be found both fresh , canned, powdered form and dried ground N diced . It is much harder to find this chili ground in any supermarkets.

Jalapeño peppers have medium heat with a Scoville level of approximately 2,500 - 5,000 units and are typically sold green. The chilis turn red as they mature, but the red peppers are considered inferior. Jalapeños are primarily grown in Mexico and the United States. In Mexico they are also known as cuaresmeños, huachinangos and chili gordos.

Our ground jalapeño with its medium heat is ideal for use in sauces and seasonings for meat, fish and poultry.

We are a small family run seed processor that has a long tradition of farming for many generations. I fondly remember my Grandfather telling stories about his Grandfather tilling the earth and the events that impacted his success. The stories bring to life the courage and creativity required to survive capricious weather and market prices. Our history makes it clear that the rewards of farming, including the birthing of the calves, the bounty of a good harvest, and the family's feeling of being rooted in the soil. I still remember with pride, getting to sit on my Grandfathers lap while driving the tractor for the first time during corn harvest.

In addition to commercial crops, most family farms also have large gardens to grow much of the food consumed on a farm. Growing your own vegetables, flowers, spices and herbs, canning and freezing were a normal part of life on the farm. We always saved seed from each plant for starting the cycle for the next year. We would like the opportunity to share some of these seeds with you.
