Roma II Bush Bean

A classic Italian flat type bean which has distinctive, full buttery flavor and very high yields. Bush type plants are loaded with long, stringless, flat-podded green beans right up to frost. This bean is featured in many gourmet recipes. This is the bush form of the pole bean Romano.

Plants grow to about 20 inches



Beans are very easy to grow and manage. Excellent for early planting, matures in 60 days. This group of beans is a favorite for the home garden and can be grown just about anywhere because they have a relatively short growing season. Excellent for the freezer.

USES:

They can be used fresh, dried, or frozen. Picking beans continuously for new flowers production and more beans!



Sowing instructions:



Sow seed directly in late spring after weather has warmed and all danger of frost has passed. Plant 4 to 6 seeds per pole in hills. Plant seeds in hills or rows about 3 feet apart. Germination results in 5-10 days. They can be planted from seed as soon as the soil is warm, day temperatures around 60 degrees F in full sun and loose, well drained soil.



To increase harvest, bush beans can be planted every two weeks. If you need to add nitrogen, 1 pound per 100 square feet is plenty. You do not need to soak beans prior to planting.



Plant Care: For the biggest yields grow plants in raised composted beds. Water regularly.
