Ashley Cucumbers are a highly productive and heat-resistant variety, perfect for warm climates. These cucumbers yield consistently in hot weather, providing an abundant harvest of smooth, dark green fruits about 8 inches long. The taste is mild yet flavorful, with a firm texture and a small seed cavity. They are excellent for slicing and for making pickles. The plants are resistant to downy mildew and cucumber mosaic virus, ensuring a healthy and bountiful crop.
GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Ashley Cucumbers thrive in full sun and require no stratification. Sow the seeds directly outdoors in well-draining soil after the last frost, at a depth of 1 inch. Plant them in hills, with 2-3 seeds per hill, spacing the hills 3-4 feet apart and the rows 6-8 feet apart. Alternatively, grow them vertically on a trellis or support structure. Keep the soil consistently moist during the germination period, which typically takes 7-10 days. Water regularly throughout the growing season, ensuring that the soil remains well-drained.
