Three Seasons of Blooms — and You Can Walk on Them! Evergreen in mild and warm climates. (Synonym Laurentia fluviatilis) Blue Star Creeper is a necessity in any sunny spot where foot traffic threatens to crush other plants. It quickly forms a dense, mat-like carpet of foliage topped three seasons every year with tiny stars of pale blue to white. Quick-growing and adaptable, it's a very versatile, attractive choice. The foliage is deep green and very slender, serving as cushiony coverage for bare soil. It fills in between paving-stones, covers spring bulb gardens beautifully, and always looks fresh and new. The 1/2-inch blooms sit atop the foliage, facing straight up, in numbers so immense it would be a job to count them. Expect them in waves from spring through fall. Remaining evergreen in warm climates, Blue Star Creeper thrives in moist soil but tolerates wetter conditions, especially once established. It cannot be walked upon constantly, but doesn't mind the occasional footfall or pawprint! A very useful plant for sunny to lightly shaded garden spots, it reaches just 4 to 6 inches high but spreads 12 to 18 inches wide. Zones 5-10.
