Between Sky and Sea uses some of my favorite fabrics that have long been in my stash, the red/orange grass, the mottled blue sky and the somewhat differently mottled sea. And as I cut and placed pieces, the other pieces fell into place, the single tree, the green shrubbery, the batik orange ferns, and startlingly, the bright pink flower on the left.

While I generally think of the seaside as a calm place, these vibrant colors dance to give perhaps a portent of oncoming winter.

My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and  a felt backing.  It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
