Weathered looking grey wood just called out to be this small shack, abandoned for who knows how long, surrounded by woods in an autumnal glade. The interior is dark, filled with cobwebs — who knows what might be inside.

The major problem that I encountered was that the red roof fabric originally looked far too new and clean for an old shack like this; I had to test out a decolorant product, and used it to gently remove a bit of the brightness and evenness of the red.

My artwork is mounted on foam core, which creates a light-weight but rigid piece with a wire for hanging and  a felt backing.  It is treated with a sun-block spray, although prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may eventually cause fading.
