The extraordinary upside-down flowering plant. Liatris spicata also known as Shooting StarsLong spikes in white or purple, bottlebrush like flowers will beautifully adorn your border from mid to late summer.

Liatris is a favourite amongst florists as it makes an excellent long lasting cut flower.

How to take care :

Plant Liatris spicata purple in a most but well-drained soil in a sun or light shade position. Liatris spicata purple will benefit if you add peat at the time of planting and mulch in spring. Improve the soil with some organic fertiliser on top of the soil. Water well after planting and again in dry weather. Remove withered flower heads regularly to prolong the flowering. Because Liatris spicata purple die back each year its best to mark the spot. Divide Liatris spicata purple every 3 years in autumn or spring and re-plant only the healthiest firm looking tubers.
