CAT (Caterpillar) Haul Truck safety award token 22 grams copper reeded edge Phelps Dodge (pre - 2007) This token / safety award copper medallion has some storage and age related wear. Please, look closely at the photos for physical condition. back of token reads, "Phelps Dodge, New Mexico operations" - "We're Copper and a whole lot more" (Wording placed on relief of a 700lb traditional copper anode.) The original design for the anodes, was called a "T-Shirt Anode" Made in this shape to facilitate ease of transport, loading and unloading on Rail Cars, which were set up with 2 parellel rails the length of the car to set the, "T-Shirt Arms," over to carry the Anodes in a line. Phelps Dodge sold to Freeport MacMoran in 2007. These will never be made again. Given out to employees working in departments that reached specific safety goals as a commemorative.
