This is Gruen's modern Curvex homage. About 20 years ago Gruen did a special run of their famous Curvex design from the 1930's. The lugs of a Curvex watch fit the wrist better than any other watch you've owned. The lugs curve down instead of the bracelet curving down. It's a very unique look. This is the watch that will get your wife to wear a Curvex because she doesn't have to wind it. Sometimes people just need that first step to get hooked. Once they're into the style then winding process becomes interesting vs a chore. The bracelet is made from a series of cabled links and is very elegant. The area where it leaves the case is reminiscent of harp strings or the neck of a violin. The deployant clasp open with a simple squeeze at the wrist. The face is silver with gold numerals and gold/cream colored hands. This is a beautiful Swiss made watch from a tried and true Swiss brand.
