plant from northwestern South America. The specific name for
this species of nightshade means "from Quito."
Germination
To germinate Solanum quitoense (Lulo) seeds, start by soaking them in warm water overnight. Then, fill a seed tray with a well-draining potting mix and sow the seeds on the surface, lightly covering them with a thin layer of soil. Keep the tray in a warm location (around 70-75F or 21-24C) and ensure the soil remains consistently moist. Germination can take 2-4 weeks. Once the seedlings emerge, provide bright indirect light and gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions. Transplant them into larger pots or outdoors when they have several true leaves.
