Pair of Antique WMF Marked Silver-Plated Brittania Metal Tea-Glass Holders Each is Marked by the Ostrich and two inscriptions "WMF" and "G" (Geislingen an der Steige) in a rhombus, placed in hatched rectangle Additionally, each is marked "B" meaning Britannia metal (a zinc-antimony-copper alloy which served as a base metal for silver plating) and also "OX" meaning oxidized finish This mark was in use from around 1900 until about 1918 (Internet Sources) The last photo shows them with NON-Original Glass Inserts, just for illustrative purposes - the Glass Inserts are modern and won't ship with the items - - See photos - Tarnish to the silver-plate - need cleaning! - see photos - Each Meaures: Height approx. 7.5 cm or 3" Diameter of Base approx. 6.9 cm or 2 3/4" Total Weight approx. 270 g A Great Collector's Piece!
