Item description
PLEASE NOTE: The U.S. Postal Service is running very slow on deliveries, and shipments that would normally take 2-3 days are taking up to 7-10 business days. We have no control on how long they take to deliver. If you need your seeds by a certain time we do offer 2 day upgraded shipping with the U.S. Postal Service.
Germination Instructions
Soil temperature: 70 degrees
Germination lighting: Dark required
Depth: 1/4"
Germination days: 12-20 days
Plant spread: 6"
Plant height: 8''
Seed Count: 50
For zones 5-9 Swiss Giants pansy are best started in late fall by sowing into your garden and then topping with 1/4" of peat or compost.
For spring planting - Cold treat these for 30 days by adding your seeds to 1/4 cup of peat, and 1 or 2 tbs of water, and placing your mix in your refrigerator (not freezer). After the cold treatment let them dry on your counter and then sow into our garden (or pots) in late fall or early winter. You can also start early in pots. Pansies do not like to be transplanted so it best to use 4" pots, or compostable peat pots, so as to not disturb the roots.
As mentioned above pansies are a cool weather flower and in most zones they will not grow in hot late spring or summer weather.
