Item description
Kuna Indian Hand Sewn Mola Art-Panama
This beautiful hand sewn MOLA Art is designed with a zipper as a pillow cover and could also be framed as a tapestry.
The MOLA art style originated with the Kuna women painting their bodies with geometrical designs. As years went by, the same patterns began to be used in fabric bought or traded with European settlers in Panama. While the geometrical designs were originally used, images of birds, animals and flowers began to be woven into the designs in later years.
This unique, colorful art piece from the Rainforest will add an interesting flair to any room and serve as a symbol of the world's variety of art and culture for years to come.
