The razor has been beautifully Replated in Bright Nickel, I must say it came out beautifully. The twist TTO (twist to open) action to open the butterfly doors is crisp as well as the turning of the Unnumbered collar to adjust the shave as each number clicks. The blade plate raises and lowers slightly as it should when you adjust the shave. The blade gap of this razor is even along both sides at every adjustment. Everything mechanical concerning this razor is 100%! This razor is Not brand new, it has been Replated and Refurbished, there is absolutely No Vintage Ware, either way it's still a beautiful Gillette Fat Boy Razor and is absolutely shave ready! White Platinum or 24K Gold is plated over the Nickel for those razors plated with precious metals. Finally, the razor is reassembled and adjusted. Blade gap is checked with a blade in, between the blade and guard. Fatboy numbers are repainted and the stripe is installed (USA Made Auto Pinstriping).
