- NOTE:
RPPCs are actual photographs, printed from a negative onto specially made photo paper with postcard lettering on the back.
Generally, there are two kinds:
1) Professional/Commercial, printed by a photo studio, or souvenir distributor.
These were often sold in racks at stores and gift shops.
2) An amateur photograph printed on a postcard.
These became popular back in the early days (1900s-1910s) when photography and the postcard craze merged.
Personal photos could be printed in a home darkroom, or sent to a local photo-finisher.
