Item description
Vintage Anne Orr Nursey Rhyme Crib Quilt measuring 41 68 inches. Pattern is from 1933, this may have been made a decade or so later. Six applique blocks alternate with six plain yellow blocks; Characters represented are Mary and Her Lamb, Little Jack Horner, Little Miss Muffet, Jack and Jill, Polly and Kettle, Tom the Piper's Son. Machine pieced, appliqued, hand embroidery, and hand quilted with Everfast fabric.
Designer and successful businesswoman Anne Orr developed a worldwide reputation for sophisticated needlework patterns and accurate instructions. She sold patterns by mail order and served as the needlework editor for Good Housekeeping magazine for twenty years.
