Item description
Up for sale is a Pacific Alaska Navigation Co. Steamship Line Puget Sound - California Watch Fob
The Pacific-Alaska Navigation Company, founded around 1912 and based in Seattle, Washington, was a prominent steamship line operating along the Pacific Coast in the early 20th century. Known as the "Admiral Line" due to its fleet of ships named after U.S. naval admirals, the company provided both passenger and freight services between California, Puget Sound, and Alaska. It played a key role in connecting Seattle to the growing Alaskan territory, supporting economic development and travel in the region. The company gained public attention in 1914 when its vessel, the SS Admiral Sampson, sank after a collision in Puget Sound. In 1916, the Pacific-Alaska Navigation Company merged with the Pacific Coast Steamship Company to form the Pacific Steamship Company, continuing operations under the Admiral Line name. Though short-lived, the company left a lasting legacy in Pacific Northwest maritime history (Open AI).
The watch fob is made of nickel plated brass and measures 33x37mm.
