Item description
Popis produktu:
This finely executed commemorative medal bears the monogram ?A I? beneath the imperial crown, symbolizing Tsar Alexander I, under whose reign the Russian Empire engaged in a series of strategic military campaigns in the Caucasus. The reverse features a solemn inscription: ?For labors and bravery at the capture of Ganja, January 3, 1804? (in Russian), honoring participants in the storming of the fortified city of Ganja (modern-day Azerbaijan). This event marked a pivotal moment in the Russo-Persian War (1804?1813), as Russian forces under General Pavel Tsitsianov consolidated power in the South Caucasus. The clean and symmetrical design, paired with the imperial calligraphy, embodies the ceremonial prestige of early 19th-century Russian military awards. The medal serves as a historic tribute to courage and military merit, presented during an era of imperial expansion and diplomatic transformation. This modern restrike retains the authentic aesthetics of the original issue, making it an excellent addition for collectors with a passion for Russian imperial military heritage.
